The Prince George's County Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that occurred at 7610 Old Muirkirk Road, Beltsville Maryland 20705 on Wednesday, 7/30/2014 7:50:00 PM.
Firefighters arrived to find fire inside of abandoned single family residence which has been abandoned for over 10 years. Exterior extinguishment operations were utilized due to the structures stability and integrity being compromised. One firefighter suffered a hand injury while on the scene performing emergency operations and was transported to Laurel Regional Hospital for treatment.
The fire cause appears to be suspicious and is currently under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact fire investigators by calling our arson tip line at 301-77-ARSON (227766). Tips may be left anonymously.
